Hi Gang:
I threatened to come back. Hahahahahaha I hear that an iconoclast is still needed to liven things up. The X5 4.4i is gone. I have the "Mindcandy 545i" until the 22nd of June.
We have our new 335i. Very nice and fast-ish. Faster than the 545i to a point, although I am not sure about through the quarter. Go to this link if you want for some pics. The hi-res images load faster if you don't do the slide show.
I am looking at an M Roadster. Not sure if I'll get it. I like the car, but it is a bit loud with the top up at speed. Second, as with other top performing BMW's, the gas mileage is not good--14 and 22 mpg. And, also like other top performing BMW's, it is slow to get rolling unless you give it more RPMs than I am used to doing in the Z06. Not good for the stoplight wars. Hard on the car. I like my Z06 style--no extra revs; no wheel spin (drag radials); and gone with the wind.
On the other side of the coin, I am driving a Z4 3.0si with a Step this afternoon. 18-28 MPG as I recall. Paddle shifters. This car would be a nice and easy little run about. We'll see. Maybe neither.
Best to all
