Weird that it got bashed on the steering response. We'll see what others have to say.
Thanks for the link.

Motor Trend gives a positive review from their first drive of the M3. One common comment so far is that the steering feels numb.
However, the M3 is faster around Nurburgring than the M5.

Expected due to the size.
So it looks like M3 is priced more than the E46 m3? Its topping 60's MSRP?

Wow article said msrp in low $60,000. Add some options on to that you're looking at $70,000 maybe more. So much for the car that was an affordable beast-of-a-car that could hang with cars that were considerably more. Not to mention the huge mark-up for the first models on the show room floor. I think I would pick up a Porsche 911 (997) instead.
Well with the 335 being as good as it is, its almost a must for the m3 to be priced at that. Loaded 335 is pretty pricey as is.
It puts the m3 in 911 waters. Id take M3 over a base 911 but not over a 911S.

M3 or 997, tough decision.
My buddy just recently upgraded his 996 (which he put over 100,000 miles on) to a 997. The 997 is an excellent car, handles amazing with plenty of power. Not to mention the interior is way better than the 996, it is night and day.
I always had a thing for the M3, can't wait to see the new one in person. The same buddy with the 997, had a brand new E36 M3 (boston green) when we were in high school, I just fell in love with the M3 first time he let me drive it. To me it will always be the quintessential M car.
