There are plenty of cars cheaper and/or faster than the M3 that could have been substituted. This was just to show the margin of destruction, but props to the Veyron driver for being a gentleman and discretely allowing the M3 a head start.

But that clip is clearly done to show that the M3 is only slower than the Veyron .
It's ridicolous : the Veyron smokes the SLR (do you need a link by YouTube or do you trust me ?) .
