Does anyone know whether there is a firmware/software upgrade to enable the in-dash CD in the E46 model to play MP3 files on a CD? We've got a 2003 325CiC with the Harmon-Kardon sound system upgrade. However, it does not seem to be able to play MP3 files on a CD. It would be nice to enable that capability, though I suspect an iPod adapter of some sort may be in the future, as well. (Suggestions in that respect would also be appreciated).

Thank you!

Hi, it's possible, I had this feature in mine 2004 E46. It's spelled Harman-Kardon by the way

Sorry, just curious, is that to say, that the BMW won't play mp3 CDs unless you replace it with a Harman-Kardon system?

I think it's dependent on the drive and its firmware, H&K is only the unit + speakers.
