I saw the X6 in HK and the prices is alot for what itis. $107,895us
I like the shape and the intee but 4 person car
I ask the sale ppl about why 4 people and not 5 like the X5, he said this is a sport coupa so most the tarket people would be small family or couples.
That OK for me for me for now with 2 kids.
I am thinking changeing my E60 to X5 for maybe X6 and drive it for 3 years and get the new F10 then

I also checked out the new X6 at my local dealer some weeks ago

prices are a bit higher than the X5, but the standard equipment is also better, so actually it is not really more expensive
(for your information, the standard X6 3.5 litres costs 58.900 euro and the 5.0 is 76.300 euro)

I love the looks !

In two weeks I'm going for a long testdrive, and I'm very curious how that will turn out, especially if it will be better then my 5-series

I will comment further after the test drive

There is only room for 2 people, that's it! In the middle of the rear seat there is a console for cups such.
I wonder if the rear seats have LATCH system for car seats...and you could use the inner ones on each side to attached a car seat accross the middle area???? If its secure and safe, X6 could work for me.

I be the 1st to beat U up then
just kidding
For me I think the car is very well designed and very fast but the outer looks is ugly.
From day 1 I never like the looks of the car no matter how good it has been mod.

Today I did the testdrive with the BMW X6 and the Audi Q7:

X6 was the 3.5 diesel engine (wich is a 3.0 diesel with two turbo's and a compressor of something like that and giving 286 BHP)

Q7 was the 3.0 diesel with 211 BHP

FIRST IMPRESSION:

inside was very well made, and looked familiar and yet "fresh", typical BMW though
Audi, was also typical audi dash and layout

DRIVE:

the X6 goes very smooth, and accaleration goes quick and very responsive pedal

what struck me was that the Q7 was much quieter inside than the X6: much more engine noise in the X6 !
(maybe that is the purpose ??)

the filtering of holes in the road was much better in the X6 than in the Q7
even my friend (the owner of the Q7) agreed on this immediately

the car behaves very 'steady' even on higher speed ( I took up to 186 km/h or 115 MPH ), but this was of course no surprise for a BMW

so after all, I had a very good feeling after driving the car,

BUT, when i got back in my E60, you can't ignore the fact that the X6 is still a very big and heavy car (even with lots of power) and that the 5-series drives much better and agile !!

a big disadventage is also that the rear view in the X6 is absolutely awfull!
you have to take in account that without the rear view camera (an option of course) it is impossible to maneuvre the car in reverse !!

CONCLUSION: we keep on waiting for the F10 ...
