Just got the E83 yesterday - miss not having iDrive - decided to retrofit a DVD, GPS aftermarket solution - the DAUF 7000 - single DIN retractable touchscreen solution.
Still work in progress will post pics along the way
installer has to fabricate a hood/housing to cover the new HU
X3 cubby container removed - not enough space for double DIN HU
putting in active subwoofer & reverse camera at the same time
installer hiding wires away to make the job look stock
