BMW and Mazda are under investigation
it seems that the cars have some defects that can result in the failure of power steering
over 140 complaints have been received

My Ride: 2004 BMW 545i Sport Package, Titanium Gray II Metallic, Wheel Style 124
Had a similar issue with my Stability control and active steering malfunction that only happen while in stop in go traffic witch caused my steering to go from sporty to school bus turning car off and on will clear this malfunction but it got worst to the point that restarting car will not clear this fault. The damage was a sensor around or near the the steering column damaged from bottoming out on a speed bump at my friends complex, total damage was $3,500 for part covered by warranty. Don't bottom out!!!
