BMW Has A Portable NAV System?-acc_portable_navigation.jpg

I saw this while looking at the 135i information on the all-new BMWUSA web site.

The BMW Portable Navigation System comes preloaded with highly detailed City Navigator maps containing detailed road maps throughout the entire United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico. Comes as a complete kit. $750

It's also shown as an accessory for the 3er. I'm presuming that they've OEMed someone elses.

Looks like a rebadged Garmin.

+1. "City Navigator" is a Garmin term. That said, perhaps this is a good sign...away from BMW NAV electronics and onto Garmin for the rest of the line?

Can you link this into the BMW blue tooth system, or does it need to use its own speakers / cables etc?

This is not new at all. BMW have always sold the Garmin in the UK as their portables.
