Quote from the article:
"The 635d hits 62mph from a standstill in 6.3 seconds which is pretty decent for a two-ton car. More impressive is the fact that it does all this while scoring 34 mpg (US) on the EU combined cycle. The best part is that this engine will be coming to the US in fifty state-legal form later in 2008 in the 5-series and the X5."
This is exciting news.

Everytime there is a thread about diesels, up pops Alex telling everybody how crap they are. Just give it a rest will you, we've heard your opinion on _EVERY_ diesel thread already. Wake up and realise diesels are not all trucks from 20 years ago. Technology has moved on, and so should you.
Are you joking or what else ?
Did you try a V8, a 650i, a 550i etc. ?
635d is sad, considering the only 6 was the V8 (the L6 appeared recently - it is slow, but the engine growls and doesn't shake)

Dude u obviously havent been in one. I test drove a 645 before getting my 535. It felt lethargic compared to it. I'm driving an E70 4.8 now and everytime I drive my old 5 series it puts the biggest smile on my face. About the 630i dont even put them in the same sentence.

I'd rather have any 635d than your old pimped 545i even if it's obviously is the fastest car on the globe... can you please not post your nonsense in the diesel related threads now?

Fortunately there are only a few members from Europe on 16k total members .
Hey, do you have fun with your pimped slow, smelly and shaking 530d ?
Can you hear TTTRRRRR TTTTRRRR when you start the engine up ?
Americans can't understand the point because they haven't the diesel yet, but do we want to say that without diesel engines half european bimmers would be Renault users ?
