Pulled up to the Ed Tankstelle behind Dave and Clare, jumped out to have a natter with them whilst waiting (btw I'll pass the stickers onto Thorleif when I see him next :thumb: ). When I went back to the car there were 3 guys peering in, interested in the car. Turns out one of them was Jonny Reid (Click Meet the Drivers), who drives in the A1GP for Team New Zealand, and the other two worked for a TV station in New Zealand, they were doing an article on him, and decided to pop into the ring on the way to Czech Republic (where the next A1GP race is this weekend).
He'd driven 3 laps in their hire jetta diesel car, doing a 9.16 BTG. Mad hatter that I am, I offered him a shot in my car. I took him out for a lap firstly with me driving, then he drove for a lap. He was a good driver, posting an 8.34BTG which was pretty good for his 4th lap ever!!! Really showed me up, where he could carry more speed through certain points. I need more practice before next year  I've put together a nice video which shows our two laps side by side, starting from the bridge simultatenously. Unfortunately its 200mb! Download here: Right Click, Save as (200mb) https://img.photobucket.com/albums/v.../TFK_3483R.jpg https://img.photobucket.com/albums/v.../TFK_3485R.jpg |
Wow Steve 200Mb is piece of cake, thank you friend, my HDD is free for your shots thx to Hobi again normally he will do my system in late Oct.
That is insane and I was freaked out of Jochen's second pic, I saw your hands in the air, sorry still got to used to RHD cars :P but this silver arrow is just perfect, cannot wait to be green after some of your laps  Keep it on RingMeister  |
Brilliant stuff. I thought u said Jonny was a racing driver? Maybe you should apply for the A1GP NZ team. It would have been nice to have a tacho, speed and/or gear shown on the screen as well. Is filming allowed or is it frowned upon? |

Remember I've got 500+ laps on the ring, Jonny had 4, and we were within 7 or 8 secs of each other. I think that proves his pedigree :wow: :D I've actually uploaded a new version with speedo and G indicators, which one did you download? I've edited the original post (on Sunday) - the new one with speedo is a divx avi file, the old one was a wmv file. Cheers, Steve |
