Edmunds Full Test

The fact that the headline to the article says: "2011 BMW X3: Another BMW that prioritizes comfort over performance" is telling.

Then at the conclusion of the test/article is probably the most accurate thing I've heard regarding BMW's change in strategy:
"Just don't expect it to be the Ultimate Driving Machine. After all, BMWs are about Joy now, and Joy isn't about responsive driving dynamics or throttle response. Joy, it turns out, is about isolation and comfort and in that, the 2011 BMW X3 excels."

Truly sad and sadly true. This realization makes me want to cry. The company that I've loved and obsessed over for so long is ditching its core base for a broader audience. You shouldn't have to by an ///M to get a car that can handle well with perfect steering weight and feel. I can only defend and justify certain lacking aspects in their new models for so long but eventually I may have to throw in the towel. :thumbsdown:

I saw one of these at a local dealership about a month ago. Wasn't for sale but it sure did look a lot nicer than the previous X3. Shame about the performance though.
