someone told me today that the 2010 3 series comes with tires that are good for 50,000 miles, and that if something should happen to one of the tires, you don't have a spare. i laughed and told him there is no way, but he insisted that that was the case. he claims the tires that come on the car are good for 50k, and cost $400 each. i told him that the dealership pretty much charges that for the runflats, so he must have misunderstood whoever was telling him this story. again he said that i was incorrect. can someone that owns a 2010 3 series tell me what's what here?

E92's and probably E90's do not come with spare tires, cuz they come with Run flats.. He is probably assuming that the tires will last 50k miles as long as they arent damaged along the way

I appreciate the reply, but have a question for you. My E60 came with runflats, but it has a spare because shit happens. Are you telling me that if "shit happens" in a 3 series, you literally don't have a spare tire and will be stuck?

Well, if you're so worried, its not like you can't buy a spare. I personally would prefer to have a spare no matter what, so if I get a 3er and it doesn't have one, guess I'd have to bite the bullet and buy one to be sure that I can just swap and go.

Spares do get replaced by the mobility kits usually btw, so even if there's no spare, you can always do some flat fix and pump the tire back up to get to the nearest tire shop.

Yes Shit happens. But with run flats... you will not be stuck.. CUZ THE ARE RUN FLATS... LOL you can continue driving it you pop one or two...

and yes you can definately buy a spare. But there is no place for it in the trunk as in dedicated place under the floor mat. cuz the exhaust is there. Its the same as the M3, M5 and M6...

I think if I ever get aftermarket wheels. I'll also pick up a spare as I dont plan to get run flats and just keep it in the trunk.

Thanks for the replies. It blows my mind that there is no spare, but I guess it is what it is. Like I said before, my e60 came with runflats, but still had a spare tire. Having no spare tire just seems like disaster.
