Hey guys,

I've seen a bunch of 335s and new X5s around lately and couldn't help but notice they now use the "angel eyes" (at least I think that's what they're called) as daytime running lamps. It also looks like they're brighter or a different color or possibly HID ?

Anyone else notice that?

The 335s angel eyes are brighter and they are used as DLRs, you can have those turned on all the time w/o the need of having the parking lights turned on as well, it is an option controlled on thecar settings. Not sure about the X5s

I thought so !!! It looks really good ! I wonder if the angeleye upgrade some members have done to their cars look the same ?

In some territories there is legislation constraining all manufacturers as to which lights (eg dipped beam) are assigned to DRL function.

I've been thinking about hard wiring my angel lights so that they are always on (As long as the car is running), regardless of having the parking lights or headlights on. Not sure how much work is involved and what disadvantages it might have (Void warranty, etc)

I've noticed the same on the 335 and, if I am not mistaken, on some LCI E60's I've seen in the last couple of days.

Does anyone know if they angel eyes can be set to be the DRL's, and also if there is some retrofit to make them brighter? Would love to have this done to my car.
