I got my brother to ditch his one year old peugeot 206 convertible for a 118i. Anyone have experience with this car? Are there websites/forums for this car?
We drove one yesterday and it drives very good. Price is a bit steep (36.000 euro for a car that hardly has any options (xenon, half leather/cloth, radio, airco and pdc). Yes that's $ 44,000.00 for a 1 series BMW!!).
Hope to hear some opinions on this car.
He wants a silvergrey one with black/darkgrey interior.

I have only test driven one and love it. It's a great car. Handling is very good, just as you expect from a BMW. The only thing I didn't like was the rear seats. If you're tall you're in trouble getting in and out and it's not very comfortable to sit there, since the lack of space.
I allready talked two friends of mine into trading the Golf for a 1 series.
Have not heard of any bad experience yet.

Rear seats are no concern. He doesn't have kids so that's no problem.
He already asked me if he gets the 118 if he can also join the forum. Off course I told him this was not possible because only E60's are allowed here

I took a 120d for a test drive and thought it drove nice, but it seems as if the fronts seats were uncomfortable. Did you notice that?

E39 2002 Touring with M-Sport package/family wagon(gone but not forgotten)
My wife has this car in Havanna w/Boston/Havann leather, and just loves it. This is her "get around town car" with the kids. The back seats are not an issue either. She has taken longer tours with it and was very pleased by the ride and handling of the car. (she has the sport suspension also)

I like the interior of the 1 series a lot.. It looks a lot like a small 5 series combined with the dash of the 6 series..
