From what I understand, this 1 M was done with a limited budget and all, but they are revealing this car at a snail's pace and instead of increasing interest, I'm losing interest.

After looking at THIS LINK, is looks as though just small amounts are now being revealed at the BMW Welt which is the same as a few months ago in France and it's even more irritating because it looks like the car is already finished. I don't know if this is is some sort of marketing thing to drum up interest but I think they severely misjudged this one. Maybe those who are real 1 addicts feel differently, but while I do like the 1 series this is just ridiculous.

Interest lost.

Interesting thought. I don't really see how the slow unveiling affects peoples' interests cause once the car is revealed, you're either gonna love it hate it and the teasing process up to that point will be completely forgotten.

Looks to be a great car.

I guess my point is I'm not sure why the don't just reveal the whole thing when it's done. I know they've released teaser shots of some car details for other models but the whole black car cover with certain pieces revealed just seems odd to me.

Apparently I'm alone on this... maybe I should stop eating sour grapes.

You're probably not alone since my opinion is really just my opinion too and I could be the lone one. haha

Not sure what you may officially want to see if you're concerned with the design, its going to be exactly like every other M now, same front bumper design and same rear end design with quad exhaust, not any mystery at all. The problem is that the car is just fugly though, bmw coukd have used the 1er as an opportunity to make a small, sporty car but it came out unproortional in the front and and rear, plus its not much lighter than the 3er so its an odd car to start. Then with the fact that it will not get the S65 but ofcourse a turbo mess makes it not very interesting to me. I'm sure others will like it as its going to be cheaper than the M3 and probably perform close to if not better than due to the weight difference, which is probably why the car hasn't been offered yet. They need to time the intro in such a way that it doesn't canabilize current M3 sales for those looking to cut back due to economy, and then allows them to further push the FXX new M3 up market when it is introduced.

I actually like the looks of the 1 series a lot. Nice compact body. Hopefully the widen fenders (by 3.1 inches) of the M version will make it look more agressive than its regular sibbling; aside for the front and rear bumper treatments.

I like the compact size too as its close to the e46 which was the perfect size small sports coupe/saloon dimensions, but hate the front lights on the 1er, its like they tried to make it sort of fugly on purpose because otherwise it would again canibalize 3er series sales since moving up market. Its purely subjective ofcourse, but if they made a sleek front nose with small, proportional headlights, I'd probably feel very different and want one too

a bmw 1 series 135i with 750hp. Believe it or not, he showed it to me, but his license is suspended for 5 years already because of running from cops at 5 o'clock in the morning racing on the highway going 290km/h.
