My Ride: 530d (231bhp), 6 speed, dark-tint rear windows, otherwise quite standard.
Hi all,
Just joined. Have a 530d 6 speed in the UK - Sep 05 model so 231bhp. Loving it - it's rekindled my delight to actually drive to work again
(not so good once I'm there though 
).
Initial problems just as I bought it, with a failed DPF - what a way to start! But sorted without issue from the garage at no expense to me (just as well for that filter element!)
Look forward to some longer journeys than the 12 miles to/from work - try to extract more than the current 38mpg from the car
, which in itself it pretty good comparing to my previous car (300ZX twin turbo 
- driving like Miss Daisy got a whole 17mpg from that one!). Must try to resist all that torque though.......
Look out for me on the technical forums - I'm likely to have a fair few questions over the next few weeks as I get to know the car a bit better!!!! Already planning the air filter upgrade, and access to that elusive fifth bolt.......

Hi Stu, and welcome, I also have the 55 plate October, 6 speed 231bhp, freakin addictive innit
Air filter and 5th bolt????
Double check your idrive is set to uk mpg and not us, mine was, I gained 8mpg with the press of a button
