That's going to hit you pretty hard in the balls when it comes to insuring an E60. I guess opting for the 520d should save you a few quid though. Have you had any quotes yet?

Hello to all, thought i should register as I'm on the look out for a 5 series within the next 6 months.

I'm 32 and living in Newcastle england, I had all sorts of cars during my years of driving, XR2, XR2I, Renault 5 gt turbo, 172, pulsar, cooper s, Evo 6 & 8, but i am now looking for something a bit more grown up, plus i will have a dangerous driving conviction once i get my licence back.

I'm looking for a m sport 520d or petrol 05 06, What sort of extras should i be looking out for and what comes with them?

I dare say a few changes will be made to the vehicle but nothing drastic, probably some springs and wheels.

hello everybody

Phil
Good luck with the car shopping and enjoy the forums!!

Hey Phil, welcome to the Forum, I purchased a '54 plate 535d in Feb and then started reading the forum...knowing what I do now I would have chosen the following options:

Must have's:
M Sport (comes with sport seats - electric base & back, manual slider)
Media Pack (Professional SatNat and Bluetooth, BMW Assist, CD Changer, Voice control on recent models)
Xenons
Logic 7 professional (you'll hate yourself if you go for standard sound system)
Auto 'box (fine once you are used to it, very hard to sell on without)

Would be good to have:
Adaptive headlights (in visibility pack with Xenons)
HUD
Adaptive cruise control
iPod connector
Comfort access
Comfort seats (various levels of electric movement , heating and luimbar support between Sport & Comfort)
Folding mirrors
PLUS - There are hundreds of others not worth mentioning (altough I am sure a few want to add their preferences)

Good luck in your search...Whatever you go for enjoy
Lived in Kenton for three years m'self...
And make sure you hold on to your license so you can keep playing with your modded beast

Welcome Phil. You will be addicted!

I drink some of that ale now and then and it is Mrs. sixcard's choice.

IMHO HUD and ACC should move to the "MUST" cateory.

I never counted the UK folks, but it sounds to me that the UK may hav more Bimmers than roads.

Have fun.
