I recently purchased a 530i brand new. I've had it for only 2 months and it has been in the shop 5 times now. Has anyone else had this many problems with their car. This was my first BMW and I was very excited to own one but now I wish I would have looked around before buying the car. I have always heard great things about BMW this car must be the exception. Not trying to flame or anything it is just very upsetting to me.

Welcome jcma81.

Sorry to hear of your frustrations. What types of problems are you experiencing? Provide some details and maybe someone who has had a similar problem can provide some inout.

As a suggestion, you may want to put your location in your profile to better provide local recommendations.

Thanks Ademitt

The car freaking rattles. I did some looking around and noticed that some people have had success with using carbaflo around the door seals. I just can't figure out why my dealer doesn't know about this. I took a copy of the service bulletin that I found on this forum and still they insist that they have never had this problem. They replaced the parcell shelf and got rid of some of the rattling but the doors still rattle. They keep telling me that they have to order parts. You know I really don't know what car I own because I keep driving loaner cars. The worst part of the whole situation is that everytime I take it in I put a lot of miles on the car. It's less then 2 months old and there is close to 3000 miles on it.

I have a 2001 530i and while it isn't stone silent (I have the infamous seat clunk), it does fine for me. Check out www.bmwtips.com for a plethora of information. Good Luck! :)
