My Ride: 523i M Sport Saloon
Hello,
I'm new here, and I'm David, 19, from Essex. I don't actually own a 5 Series, but I'm fortunate enough to get drive my dad's quite frequently. My own car is a Ford Focus RS (boo I hear you all shout ), but I'm so impressed with the Five that I've joined up here.
It's adorned with a fairly sedate 523i engine (and an auto 'box to eat some more power), but aside from that it's a beautiful car. I can only imagine what the 535d or M5 are like. It's a silver M Sport with the 19" 172s, rear lip spoiler and tinted rear glass, so in the looks department it's fully 'blinged'.
The steering is superb, and makes me wish my Focus was rear wheel drive! It sounds quite good, too. But the thing that makes me so fond of it is how it is such a laugh to hurl down a backroad and yet be such a wonderfully refined motorway cruiser. Back in August I drove it down to Disneyland Paris, and with 100mph on the cruise control it was traveling with less fuss than most other cars would at 70mph. The lack of wind noise is especially impressive.
I hope to get a BMW of my own in the future; the new E92 335d Coupe sounds good. Although for now having the pleasure of getting to drive the 523i is quite good enough.
I'll take a couple of pics in a bit - the light looks quite nice at the moment.
David.
