Isn't the e60 RWD? and if you have the sport pkg, you would be on a staggered set-up with a lowered set-up==>slight camber on the rear wheels possibly leading to increased tire wear?

to the forum, congrats on your new toy...

Welcome to the forum!

Rear tires wearing faster than the front is quite common. No rotating though my friend. Check your tire sizes and I think you will find that they are different front to rear and also directional.

More wear in the front is not something I've heard of on any RWD car--usually the opposite. Like others have said, they are probably staggered and unidirectional, but even if not, I'd just buy new and skip the rotation. BMWs do run more negative camber at the back and moving those to the front would probably cause some vibration/handling issues.

PS: Sorry about the vandalism to your license plate--damn spraypaint taggers!

I am new but have been lurking here for 5 months. This is a great forum, and I got
a lot good info from here.

I bought a 2005 530i two months ago, it has sports, premium, L7, and adaptive lights.
I have put 7000 miles on it in 2 months, it is the perfect car for road trips and I love
how it handles.

I have a quick question here. Does the rear tires wear faster or the front? I am asking this
because my rear tires have more wear right now. And I am considering to do a rotation.
However a friend who was a mechanic told me the front tires on BMW wear faster
Thanks.
