The new one

Brand new to the boards and it seems as though i've found an awesome new community. I am currently in the market for a CPO 545 an 04 or 05, my delay is should I opt for an SMG car or steptronic? I love the manual thing but kinda feel like not shifting all the time, my current wheels are a six speed. TIA

SMG or Step? SMG is a 6speed w/o clutch pedal and Step's got the torque converter. What's your preference? It's been demonstrated here that the Step is a faster straight line acceleration tranny from a dig but for modulating power like a conventional 6speed, SMG is it. SMG also auto throttle-blips when down shifting. Best of all, with SMG you can hold the car at redline while Step will upshift automatically. Important when engaged in spirited driving.
