My Ride: Platingrau Metallic 2009 535i xDrive
Default

Yo! sup E60 members! I recently moved out to Cali, just north of San Francisco in Sonoma County. Drove the entire way from Tampa, FL.
I recently upgraded from an 06 330i to a 2009 535i xDrive AWD and LOVE it! I was a member on e90post but found a lot more E60 members here.
I don't have any pictures of my ride at the moment, but it's plain stock at this time besides some carbon fiber hood and trunk emblems and smoke turn signal markers.
No sport package, just the stock 17s for now. I do plan on getting a slew of upgrades as I did for the 330i, such as

1. Rims! Love black rims. The E60 has no sport package and is Gray, but I can't get away from the matte black rims. I still have some 19's from the 330i but they are staggered Was thinking of getting 20's. Thoughts?
2. Black kidney grills. Already have them, just have to touch them up a little bit.
3. Exhaust - No clue which, a lot of research needs to be done here.
4. Headers - Same as exhaust.
5. intake - same as above lol
6. Either a new front bumper for a sport look or some splitters.
7. Tint the head lights and tail lights. Not sure if legal here in Cali though.

I'm sure there is a lot more that I am forgetting, but that is a pretty good start! I am open to any opinions or pointers as to what I should get. I am a noob here no doubt. Thanks for having me. Be easy!

Awesome, I'm right down the road in Cotati. Do you have any recommendations for the area for BMW shops? For rims, auto work, and even repair? I'm done with dealerships. I can do an intake, but installing anything else (bumper, exhaust/headers) I'd be afraid I'd jack it up.

Whats up man, im from petaluma. umnitza is in concord, they're a vendor on this forum, that's where I go, always like to deal in person. Sonic motorsports is another one that a lot of members use. I got my bummper put on at G&C autobody in Petaluma, they're the big time around here and I'm always happy with their work. On a side note, Jack you going to this: https://www.facebook.com/events/163013033825913/? I'm thinking about cruising out.

BMW shops i would recommend for work would be northbay bavarian in santa rosa. And for body shop i go to Hansel autobody which is located behind Hansel Prestige which work on all of BMW cars. As for bumpers its very easy and isnt hard, ive had experience with sonic motorsports in mountainview darwin he's a standup guy and understand everything about Euro cars and exotics.

Sweet guys, thanks for the info. I've already contacted Nerweezy about the Mtech style bumper and side skirts. So if that pans out I'll have to find a place to install them. I'm fairly certain I can do the side skirts. Plus I have some 19's that I got here http://www.vortextuning.com/19-vt996-matte-black.html for my retired E90. Starting too look like I may be able to use them based on the offset. I'd have to get new tires for the staggered to work on my xi. Not too sure how that all works, but I'm researching.

I'm unsure if your able to put your E90 rims on the XI. I dont know if they still have issues with the replica side skirts or not,but i would go OEM to avoid shortness of the sides from the replica ones. I am more then willing to give a hand on installing if you need help just pm me sometime and i'll see how my schedule works out with when you need help.
