Hi Everyone.

Just signed on as a member to this site after having spent lots of time on it as a guest, but now looking forward to more active participation.

I have just closed a deal with my local BMW dealer on sawpping out my 2001 E39 525i with to a Nov-2005 E60 530d, which I'll take delivery of on 20 March. It's got the newer engine (231bhp and 500Nm) and my extended test drive showed it to be a significantly different animal to my ourgoing car. Can't wait to take delivery and then really go out and have a blast in it.

It's sapphire black, with leather seats, sports suspension, xenon lights, professional sat nave, bluetooth, CD changer (which I am swapping out for the iPod interface), steptronic auto 'box, Comfortline 2 pack, Vision Pack. Still waiting for a full list of the 2005 items that were included in Comfortline 2 and Vision Packs, as the spec changed between autumn 2005 and now.

Congrats and welcome. I still love the lines of the E39 more than the E60, but the E60 is just a fantastic car. I don't miss my E39 anymore and neither will you. Enjoy the ride and congrats!

I'm with you on that. The lines of the E39 still look fresh and classy almost 15 years on. Gonna miss it, but I have been blown away by the E60, not least by that 3.0d's torque, power, refinement and, of course, its frugality. With gas at almost $7.50 a gallon here, you get the idea!

Welcome to the best e60 forum in the world and have fun too
I had a go on the e39 and I tell you you will not miss it, when you start to drive the e60 more
