My Ride: 2005 Jet Black 545i w/ sport pkg, nav, HUD
Default

I picked up my 2005 jet black 545i 6spd w/ nav, sport pkg, and hud this past weekend. I had to drive it back from Nashville. It was a fun drive. I wasn't looking for the HUD as a requesite option, but now I can't see how I drove without it. Only prob is that if you wear polarized sunglassess, you can't see it. I'll do a search to see if there are any fixes. I knmow you could put diffuser tape on rasio panels, but don't know how to implement it on a HUD.

The bad thing is that I already have to bring her in for service. It's having difficulty starting. I think it's the battery. It needed an oil change anyway. There are a couple of other things I'm gonna have done:
1. Replace the window switch plates on the driver and passenger sides b/c they are peeling.
2. MP3 retrofit..i havent decided on the BMW ipod interface(heard there is a 1000 song limitation and its a pain to navigate) or the denson which looks like its better than the BMW. I wish the aux input mod was easier!!
3. center the steering wheell...steering wheel is off a smudge to the left.
4.oil change

Ive heard mixed things about my local dealer, Peake BMW, but I'll give them a try. The other option is to drive to Brian Harris BMW in Baton Rouge.

I've got my eyes on some 166 wheels, hid fog lights, led interior lights, and afe intake

Thanks to all who have helped/supported me,
Will

Congratulations on your 545 and to the TOP 5 forum ever!

Turn either your sunglasses or your head 90deg. and it will solve the HUD problem.

Congrats!

Re the BMW iPod interface, I had it in an '06 650i. I think I had over 1000 songs and some pretty long playlists as well. One limitation is the slow scrolling. If you like ZZ Top, put them in a short playlist
