My Ride: E34 530 V8 M-Technic manual upgraded to 540 6-speed manual
E61 530dA - daily driver
E46 GTR race car - under construction
Hello everybody!
I finally found some time to introduce myself and my new ride. I have been driving around already a month with E61 530dA 170kW BMW and I must say that my new car is much more comfortable than any other BMW I've owned.
I also have "calypsorot" E34 530 V8 manual with M-Technic bodykit and E46 that I am building for track days. As you can see I have quite big addiction to BMW-s and I must thank for that my brother
The E34 is currently without engine, because I will install there M60B40 with Getrag S6S 420G six speed manual gearbox. Here's also one picture of a dirty E34
The E46 also waits his time, but one day it will be ready to drive at track
OK, let's talk about the E61, as a made the topic because of that car after all.
First some pictures (made by one good friend)
It's produced in september 2006, but registered actually in 2007 in Netherlands. The previous owner here in Estonia brought it to our country last year in May and didn't do actually any services. So after two weeks I took it to the dealer to let them check the car. They found some minor issues, but the biggest problem is with the electric panoramic sunroof which does not close and they made me offer for 800? to repair this. OK, I've understand that this is a common problem in these BMW-s, but currently this does not disturb me and I am thinking whether to let this repair one day or use the DIY internet offers. I currently can't find it, but I have the DIY pdf file already in my computer.
After all, the car has quite good option list: comfort seats, comfort keyless access, front seat heating, professional NAV, head-up display, pdc, folding mirrors, ligths package, bluetooth, M-Techinc suspension and bodykit, style 135 wheels and many more good things. Especially I like the leather DAKOTA/ROTORANGE seats Btw, you can find the full option list from here.
With this car I don't plan to do any mods currently, but you'll never know. First, I'd like to remove all the problems that the dealer has found and also, I want to remove these swirl flaps from the intake manifold, cause the car has quite big kilometrage/mileage.
Some of the things are already fixed and some are still in the TODO list, but yesterday I noticed that the temperature is to low in highway - only 75 degrees. So I also plan to change the EGR thermostat to fix this problem.
