New member here. I wanted to reach out for advice about possibly buying a 2003 525i with 47,000 miles on it. It belonged to my neighbor, so I'm very familiar with its history. It was dealer maintained. It was never neglected or in an accident. It was never driven in the winter, and very seldom in the rain.

So I was wondering if anyone on here might advise me on how reliable a car this would be for an extended road trip? My neighbor, the owner, passed away, so it's not being sold out of anything but necessity. The tires are original, so I realize I'd have to replace them.

Is there any pre-emptive repair or maintenance anyone would recommend before I leave? Or is there anything in particular liable to break down?

Any info would be appreciated!
