Hey All,
Very helpful and informative site you guys are running here. Usually dont post much, but figured I would at least introduce myself.
Have been looking for about 3 - 6 months (depends how you count it) for a 5 series BMW. Could not decide whether to go for a 530xi or a 545i.
After careful consideration I decided to go with 545i. I am coming from a 99 ford mustang cobra (mid 300 hp) so the bigger V8 just made more sense to me.
After months of searching for the right color / package combo and descent mileage, I have hit a wall... There just seemed to be no perfect combo.
So after careful consideration I have decided to step up to a 2006 550i. That actually broadened my filed a bit and I was able to find a few within my specs, albeit at a higher price.
So went do to VA (from NYC) and drove it up this past weekend:
2006 550i Silver Gray Metallic with Black Interior:
Packages:
- Cold Weather Package (ZCW)
- Premium Package (ZPP)
- Premium Sound Package (ZPS)
- Sport Package (ZSP)
Options:
- 6 Speed AT w/Steptronic (205)
- Active Steering (217)
- Rear Seat Heating (496)
- Park Distance Control (508)
- Adaptive Xenon Headlights (522)
- On-board Navigation System (609)
- SIRIUS Satellite Radio (655)
- Dakota Leather Upholstery (LC_)
Car still has the Factory Warranty / Maintenance through Feb 2010.
Driving it back from VA was a blast. I am speechless... All I can say is WOW.
Incredible car with incredible options.

I forgot to add ........... I once lived in Carnasie, on E 86th.
You got yourself a great car and make sure you got a lot of money to spend on the mods because the pictures you'll see here are so ...... tempting!

I doubt I will start modding it, since I modded my Cobra and now I consider it money down the toilet (you never know though, might change my mind).
the clock just passed 28,000 miles on the way back
Here it is at the dealer:
Dont have my own pics yet... Sorry.
