Just joined this site as I am finally returning to the BMW fold after an absence of over 20 years. Bought my first one in 1971, a grey 2002. Hardly anyone where I lived knew anything about BMW then. I have had a total of 11 BMWs to date, and my last one was a 1985 535i which I sold in November of 1986. Other previous ones included 3 2002s, a Bavaria, a 1974 3.0CS, a 530i, a 733i, a 528e, a 533i, a used 528i, and my last one, the '85 535i. Yes, I am over 60 years young. 
I have just completed an order for a 2008 535xi in Alpine White, Black Dakota leather, Poplar trim, Step, Premium pack, USB, and sun shades. After much deliberation, I passed on the Sport pack due to the fact that I do not want the RFTs.
I don't expect I'll see my car until some time in December, and the waiting period will, I know, seem long.
Now that the decision is made, I can't wait....

I most recently traded in my '07 Mustang GT Calif. Special Convertible pending deciding exactly which BMW I wanted to get. My present daily driver is a '05 Toyota Highlander (very useful, dependable and boring as watching grass grow). We will keep the HL for practical purposes and my wife will drive it. We will sell wife's '06 Toyota Solara SLE V6 coupe. I have had a series of Japanese (several Toyotas, Subarus, Nissans) for the most part, with a '01 Bullitt Mustang somewhere in there. As to the GT/CS vert, just think I'm not a convertible person. I have been a bit of a car-nut over the years and the new 535xi will be #55 since age 16.
I am in Kelowna, BC and I guess I may as well put that into my personal info.

I have visited Kelowna a couple of times over the last few years and know what a nice place it is to live (may even emigrate there
