Hey guys,
Just found this place a couple of days ago. I have been hanging out over in the bimmerfest forums, didn't even know this board existed.
Bought my first BMW about two months ago, and I must say, it's about time. Picked up a 2005 530i with 40K miles on it. Sport, premium, active steering, extended warranty, etc. Color is silver/grey over black. Have been a huge fan of the 5 series ever since one of my clients let me drive his E39 M5 for a couple weeks while he was away That was about 5 years ago and I have craved a BMW ever since (also fell in love with the wheels if you couldn't tell).
Besides a good 2-3 hour detail of the car, the first thing I did when I brought it home was get rid of the run-flats. Sweet Jesus those things were loud. In the process I also picked up a set of replicas for a good price and am going to turn the 18" stocks into winter tires. Impressions so far, great handling, ample power, better than expected gas milage, smooth ride, and I don't care what all the magazines say, I think the iDrive is pretty cool.
Here are some pics I took recently. Yeah it's pretty much stock, but whatever.
Look forward to future posts!
