Hi everyone:
I'm a BMW E39 wagon wanna-be, but thought I'd dip my toe in the water and get educated. This, so far, looks to be the most informative site I've found. One strategy is to find a reliable independent mechanic beforehand. Any thoughts? Can anyone recommend a mechanic in the greater NYC area? From all my years as a Volvo guy (gasp), my biggest, bestest move was to find such a guy. He's saved my life on many occasions (not to mention my $$$). Here's hoping to contribute and soak up as much information as I can in the near future! best, Mark |

Welcome to the forum, Mark. Interesting approach on looking for a mechanic before you have the car. The E39 is going on 18+ years old now, so it would be important to find someone who knows what they're doing. You can try entering your zip code into BMW Repair Shops - Find a BMW Mechanic | BimmerShops and see what pops up. Good luck!

Thanks Jay...good advice. I appreciate it.

Just food for thought. |
