carfreak: ummm yes...

Ferdie: Where did you source the 19" wheels, do you like them and what size do they run in the rear? Fitment issues?

Thanks for the warm welcome guys! The car is in Houston - and alas, I am in Afghanistan (not military - but Gov. contractor & I'm 23 so lets just get that one out of the way *sigh*). Its not that bad so don't feel sorry for me...except for not being able to drive the "beast" hehe.

I've decieded the stock style exhaust is the way to go...and some company of the name Eisenhaus is supposed to be good?

Anyways the gallery is awesome - but it would be great to post up everyone's engine pics...I've heard some motors have different covers/appear different than mine. I love BMW for doing such wonderful art in the engine bay - after all that's what they're known for right?

Thanks again for the warm welcome I think I've found my home - Happy Motoring!

**edit** - I pretty much grew up in Scotland and Germany - Aberdeen and Frankfurt respectively.
Welcome, fellow Houstonian. This is the place foor all e60 owners. How did you come across e60.net and which dealer did you get your car from? Must be a bummer not being able to enjoy your car since you are out of the country. Be careful in Afghan.

Welcome Rolex,
In addition to BMW fanatics, there are a few serious watch collectors here too. (IWC is my focus).

Cheers,

Pics of My Car

Enjoy guys...I had some fun with photoshop to dress up otherwise boring pics. This is one car that just LOVES the black and white.

Bimmer32 - found this site on Google, I was joined up with bimmerforums.com and while they're not bad guys no one knows about the e60, and I get mobbed having a 550 with little girl responses...Its nice to be amoung adults.

Ray - Glad to hear others spend too much on time...I just made the switch for my daily to a Submariner from my Breitling Emergency Mission - I love it but damn its heavy. Its the only watch that can save your ass though...screw visa...don't leave home with out the Breitling!

Nothing wrong with bimmerforums.com, but this e60.net forum rocks. There's a "watch" thread in the Lounge area. You'll enjoy it. I see you got your car from BMW North Houston. I was there a couple of weeks ago. The service dept. is OK.

Yeah the bimmerforums guys are cool, but no one knows anything about these cars besides what they read in mags. Just the wrong forum for what I was looking for. They're all shooting me to tire rack for wheels...ugh...some of those wheels on there weigh 40 lbs!!!

I've been happy with the treatment I've received from the Houston North guys - besides the fact when I went looking to purchase no one would help me until my father came back from the restroom ...agh, but the car has to go back as my father found a bubble in the tint, and the driver side rear seat entry plastic BMW cover is cracked! AND NO ONE HAS EVER SAT BACK THERE! But I was assured everything would be taken care of promptly.

Except, check out the BBS wheels at tirerack.com. If I had it to do it again, then I'd stick with my stock size wheels (getting BBS very light-weight wheels) and replace the RFT's with the same size high-performance tire. I think I prefer the higher profile. And, more importantly, historically, I have had so much wheel spin that I would like to run drag radials some of the time. No one makes drag radials for 19" wheels.
