Thanks everyone.

We'll definitely do our best to make the next meet. We belong to a bunch of clubs that LOVE to go on drives and do mini-shows so our time is usually booked but we'll skip one to meet up with some BMW people and get to meet some of the folks who I am sure I will be asking questions to sooner or later!

As for anyone else in the Northern NJ area, not that I am a master mechanic, but if anyone ever needs a hand doing anything to their car, definitely hit me up. I enjoy working on cars and bullshitting with others who are passionate about their marque as well.

Bergen County rocks! I loved growing up there. Lots of Bimmers in that neck of the woods.

HAHAH unfortunately no mods to this car. It is not mine... yet. Once we are married in September it will be though! That goes both ways though and I don't want to give up my cars so the BMW will remain stock.

Well, technically, you could put a disclaimer in the vows...

After September maybe Dawn will make you see the light ... marriage can do that! After she sees the action on this forum you may find yourself under pressure to make some changes!

She is not against mods at all... on my cars. The BMW is hers though and she will have none of that. I am blessed to have found a cool and attractive woman who prefers to drive a manual tranmission. She is not into modding HER cars though so 2 out of 3 ain't bad. She is upgrading from a 2000 Maxima SE that has now become an incredibly nice beater car. Once that goes though... hopefully never but most liley in a year or 2, it will be replaced with something that is modable. I am thinking an older BMW something or other but we'll have to see where we are at that time.

I am enjoying the stock aspect of cars lately. I had a 300HP Eclipse followed by a 450HP Talon. Got out of that rat race for a couple years and stuck to the basics, exhaust and intake on my truck and exhaust and chip upgrades on the S4. I thought I missed it so I got back in with a 350HP Galant VR4. Realized I didn't miss it. Sold the Galant to a friend and laid low. I have yet to get the S4 out of the garage for the winter though so maybe once I get back into the swing of a fast car (my truck is my daily driver - quick btu a truck), I may start to miss it all again. We'll see though.

Out of curiosity, what worthwhile mods are there for a 530xi that would be tasteful and unobtrusive as possible to have it remain a plush daily driver?

Come to this meet and you'll surely meet a plethora of NJ members. In fact, there's a NJ caravan thread that's being organized for this meet. This meet is going to be great. Only E60.net and M5Board members are invited. This was not posted on any other BMW boards.
