New To Forums
Hello everyone, just thought i'd introduce myself. Just picked up 08 550i alpine white with black interior. 63k mile. Ive been away from the bmw world being that i used to have a `99 528i. But i am back now and loving my new toy. well its new to me. I have been reading the forums and trying to get used to the lingo. And have been very interested in this coding thing everyone is talking about. from what i have gathered coding allows you to do things to the vehicle factory does not offer. What kind if things could i do? Is anyone from the NYC area? Oh and could anyone tell me what LCI means

Welcome to the forum! I don't know much about coding personally since I don't do any of that haha. As for LCI it means Life Cycle Impulse, which basically is like a facelift as far as things offered in the vehicle. This could be things from appearance such as the bumper to other things such as coding for angels eyes etc... The older E60's are Pre-LCI the newer ones 2007+ (i think is the year?) are LCI.

I have coding done on my car and it makes things a little bit easier. I have folding and unfolding mirrors with key fob and opening and closing windows with key fob. Angel eyes 100% bright all the time. full rear brake lights when stopping softly (forgot what its called). Seat belt gong disabled. Digital speedometer.

Congrats and welcome AlPE60! I'm new myself (2010 535xi, white w/black leather interior and in Queens too). I'll be watching this thread as I'm interested in the coding as well. We're late to the party but it doesn't mean we can't catch up on drinks!
Enjoy! |
