Hello all! Just joined the forum, although been nosing at it for a while in the run up to buying my car, and i thought i would introduce myself! So here i am! I am from Cornwall, UK and have just bought a 5 series from a BMW dealership in Peterborough (the local BMW dealers were awful). I part exchanged a Porsche Boxster as i was after a large family saloon (wife is 8 months pregnant). Had decided what i wanted and what spec i was after and its taken me a week to find the right car- after hours on the net and phone. I used this forum to answer some queries i had and this helped me out in finding the right car, so i owe you guys a beer, could be expensive eh? :-)
Anyways i am over the moon about the car, a 54 Plate 530d in Black Sapphire. It pulls like a train, i am so impressed!!! However on the 338 mile journey back with the car i returned 42mpg!! Doubly impressed!! (I have enclosed a couple of pictures.)
I have only one 'issue' and one problem with the car. The issue is that the pedals are offset slightly and i keep trying to brake using the clutch! (Am just getting used to the position now so isnt much of an issue!) The problem i have is that the bluetooth is playing up (it connects, phone shows its connected, display on the car indicates its connected, incoming calls work fine but when i try outgoing calls it disconnects!). Its very wierd but no doubt i will get to the bottom of it eventually!
That said i already adore the car and have only had it for two days. The sales service i got from Sycamore BMW in Peterborough was top class, i was genuinely impressed beyond words. I know i will be very happy and i look forward to partaking in discussions and getting to know those who use this great forum.
