Hey everyone!

I just purchased a single owner - always garaged 2008 535i Sport/Premium with 35,000 miles from a lady at my wife's work. She drove it a mile each way to work and in her local area - thus the low miles.

I am coming from a 2001 530i with 178k miles that we have had since 2004. Recently I inherited the 530 from my wife - an have had a blast fixing and updating - but 4 months later the 08 presented itself and we couldn't pass it up.

I am worried about the turbos because I don't know anything about them. I am sure that there is plenty of owners on here that have and will have plenty of feedback for a newbie like me.

I love the car and can't wait to get into it and see what the possibilities are!

to the forum, Ed, and congratulations on purchasing a rare find. I think I would have done the same thing if I was presented the opportunity, although the E39 is an awesome car. I had an '07 myself.

Since you know, or at least have easy access to the previous owner, I'd ask her if she had the turbo recall done. If she doesn't recall, you should be able to find out from the dealer she used. At any rate, make sure you address the issue if it hasn't been performed.
