Welcome, you will surely find the forum useful. I wish we had the diesel version here in the States. On a Swiss holiday awhile back I rented a 3-series diesel with no miles yet on it and it was one of the finest automobiles I have driven. The fuel economy was also fanastic given what you all have to pay for petrol across the pond.

Morning, i've just joined this forum, as i collect my 535D M-Sport on Monday, having driven Audi's for the last few years.

Made the move to save a few pennies this year for other investments (the wife made me), as my most recent steed was a highly modified RS6 (insane 552BHP monster).

The new Bimmer is my local dealer Principals car, so has most of the option boxes ticked, with 19" New M5 wheels, Comfort Seats, Head-Up Display, Hi-Fi Loudspeaker, Sun Protection Glass & Media Package along with a few other optional extras. She's in SIlver Grey with Black Leather & looks stunning.

Moving from such a powerful cal may cause me to go the DMS route, just for that extra kick, but i'll see how things go for the 1st few weeks.

Anyhow, just wanted to say hello & as i've done over on RS246, Tyresmoke, PistonHeads & TT-Forum, i'll be back frequently to pick your brains & get advice on my new car.
Welcome W8pmc Hope you enjoy the new car. Post pics as soon as. Be interested to hear what you think of the performance as you've been spoilt with the RS6.

Welcome, intrested to here any comments if you go down the DMS route. I am planning this in March, one word of caution check what your insurance companies stance on mods is some will want to sting you bigtime.

Good luck with the car.

WOW,

That's quite a welcome. Many thanks.

I'm in Houston on business this week, so feeling very tired & jet lagged.

Really looking forward to picking the car up on Monday. Been thinking about a 535D for quite some time & i've certainly found the perfect example for my tastes.

I'll be sure to post piccies once i've got her.

As for coming from my highly modified RS6, i know the performance of the Bimmer is going to be some way from what i'm used to (although DMS can close that gap), however things change & i need to start saving money & investing in some property, so the 535D will save me a fortune in running costs, yet still be perfect for my needs & good fun when needed. I spent over ?14,000 in modifications to the RS6 & she probably cost over ?4,000 a year in maintenance costs with fuel pushing that figure up by another ?3,500 at the very least (i do 12K miles a year). Looking forward to more cash in my pocket.

I'll also do a full 1st impressions post next week, when i've driven the new car a few miles.

Thanks again for the awesome welcome & i'll be sure to post frequently.

As aside, any issues etc. with the 535D M-Sport i need to be aware of on collection, things to look out for?? I've told the dealer to upgrade the software to V20 & they will be pdi'ing the car fully.
