Should be in mod section, but depending on when the car was produced the ECu box like v 81 was for some time not able to be updated. THe new v29.2 > soft ware data logs and looks for piggy backs and has been causing some lag and slow throttle pick ups.
You would need you cars production date , and go to a Dinan Authorized dealer to see if you will have issues. The new software for the new boxes was supposed to be out in middle of July. I don't know if they have up dated the web page yet to reflect it.
Best thing to do is call them... or email them.
Also if you want to know more about your N54 tuning options I would highly recommend the E90post.com forums , esp. in the turbo section. You will see all that is going on software wise with all the tuners for the E8x,E9x, and our E6x platform cars.
On your question on the oil cooler, All 08 n54 were to come WITH them but , guess what they did not. E60's with the Sport package Should have them on them, E60's with sport and IX some do, later production ones DO NOT it's kinda iffy. E61's DON'T.
You really should go to the e90post.com turbo section, there is a ton of info on the N54's there. There are not a ton of people that have them / or have tuned them on the board here. In the past couple weeks there has been an increase in 535's getting some form of tune going, mainly due to there starting to be a bunch of products just now coming out. ( Just today got my AFE Cold air intake for mine ) It's been slow going for the 535 and 135's untill this month were the flood gates have just opened up. The 335's have had a big jump, but have been "beta" testing all the cool stuff for us...

Ps look in to a SPRINT BOOSTER asap... esp if you have v29.2 > software on your car.

Welcome to the board Rob!!
You should be fine even with the newest BMW software progman v29.2 that detects these sort of things. At least one JB http://www.burgertuning.com/ has got around the software and is completely undetectable. I'm sure the other tuners will follow suit soon enough.
