Default Just bought my first BMW 🤔

Hello everyone 👋, so I decided to give BMW a shot and decided to purchase a used 2006 530i with mechanical issues from Copart. I repaired the transmission and now I'm on to the final part sensors 😫

93CF HISTORY
Message Error (Vehicle Speed) :
Dynamic Stability Control (DSC), SIM Receiver, DSC Transmitter

5EBA HISTORY
DSC : Steering-Angle Sensor, Plausibility

5F12 CURRENT
DSC : Brake-Pad Wear, Front Axle, Brake Pads

5F13 CURRENT
DSC : Brake-Pad Wear, Rear Axle, Brake Pads

D366 CURRENT
DSC : No F-CAN Message (DSC Sensor 2, C7)

What sensor(s) should I be looking at or replacing? Thanks in advance.

Aside from the sharp metal edges I have cut myself half a dozen times so far, working on this car is not bad at all 👍 (I'm a total bmw newbie by the way but I still got a ZF6HP19Z transmission fixed on the first attempt)

Welcome!!

Looks to me you have a bad DME sensor. That's the only thing current. I would hook it up to INPA and clear all the codes. Take it for a drive to see what comes back. If you're wanting to do a deep diagnostic the hook it up to ISTA+

Looks like you just need to replace brake pads all around, and then possibly that DSC sensor if it returns after clearing.

Maybe not entirely, I did notice that the break pads look pretty thick to be triggering a code. Also as you can see in the image below there is some sensor I assume dangling next to the caliper on the driver wheel.

I bought the cable and will run Insta+ sometime in the next 12 hours. Any idea how that sensor connects? My guess is the brake caliper but it doesn't click or stay on tight enough.

Thanks to both of you guys for the help btw, I like it here already

Yep, that's definitely the brake pad wear sensor. It snaps into an indent at the top of the caliper. You'll see it right next to the pad.

This is the part! Thanks so much, they are so cheap I'll just replace and see how it goes. I'm having a lot of trouble finding a good link for ISTA+ though to run a full diagnostic. Thanks again!

Good call. The sensor is most likely bad, because it'll signal the pad is low when its crushed by the pad. Well obviously, nothing is crushing the sensor flapping in the breeze like that.

I just bought the car, it wasn't me I swear 😅

Edit: I decided to buy ceramic brake pads for all wheels, the two brake pad wear sensors and the yaw sensor just to be safe.
