So I'm both new to bmw and e60 ofc, Im not sure if it matters but I have an e61 520d 2007 and it has the CCC Idrive, so my problem is when i change settings in my Idrive they stay changed as long as my car is running, but as soon as I turn my car off all my "prefrences" are reset, for example I changed one of my buttons on my steering wheel to turn off the CCC display and it does but as soon as i turn off my car and turn it on again it just goes back to the "normal" settings, also did this with the brightness of the screen and the distribution of The seat heater.
