I Just Joined the Club
Hi All,
On Thursday I picked up a 2009 535i Xdrive (CPO) 39k Silver/Black with Nav, Comfort Access, PDC, Sirius, Ipod. I traded in my 2001 530 Silver/Back 5 MT Nav, Sport, Cold, Sunshade. I thought I would miss the manual but I don't so far. I have driven it mostly in sport mode and it's good. I will be doing various mods (like CCC/CIC) over time so I am excited! I also want to upgrade the shifter and steering wheel w/paddles. It's a little bit of a tight fit in the garage but I will be careful when pulling in. I have bought the Bently's manual from Amazon a few days ago, so I will be reading up on various topics over time.
Well, thank you for reading this post and I am really excited to be part of the E60 group!
John

Thank you guys for the greetings. I just found out tonight that when I press the trunk open button on the key fob, the trunk lid does not open. I have comfort access so I am not sure if this matters.
Thanks again,
John

Welcome to the forum and food luck with your 535xi ... You might try a new battery (it's a 'watch-type battery' - pick it up anywhere for two bucks!) in the CA fob. How about the other CA fob - if that works the problem is isolated to one of them. However, if that doesn't work since your car is CPO your dealer might need to inspect the various electronics.
Better yet, if you just bought the car, all issues should have been corrected before it left their business. Don't let them try to his you up for the $50 fee to fix something that should have been taken care of as part of the CPO inspection/correction process.

Hi Luigi,
Thank you for responding to my OP. I did try the other FOB and nada. I changed the battery (CR 2032) in both and still can't open the trunk. I sent an email to the sales person, telling her what's going on and asking her for her help in not charging me anything to fix this. Also, now when I start the car from a cold start I see an outline of a "AA" battery with a key symbol sticking out at a right angle to the battery. I have read some posts on other forums but not a definite answer on what this means. It shows up in the part of the display where the date and time are between the speedo and tach.
Any thoughts?
Thank you,
John

Thank you for the welcome, iamnatio! My mind is a sponge and I want to learn everything about the E60. I know tall order. I do know that time and willingness/passion is needed to make this happen.
Talk to you soon,
John
