Hi guys and gals,

Wanted to take a moment to introduce myself to the forum. I am BMW free, but thanks to my buddy/co-worker with an E60, he has me on the fence. So I am hoping that by reading through the forums, in addition to my own research I can come to an educated decision as to which platform will work best for my needs.

Myself, I used to be a huge car junkie back in the mid 90's ( or at least since I had a license). I was one one of the many swapping engines on the Honda scene back in the days and after a nice 8 years of being covered in grease and under hoods, decided to never turn a wrench again, however a lot has changed since then, and well here I am looking to get my paws dirty, but not that dirty this time around !

Regards,

ARL

That's a pretty good question, it all depends whether I want to have the turbos or the V8. The debate was to decide which chassis to go with, now is matter of just test driving and doing my fair share of lurking.

Thanks for the kind welcomes all.

Welcome! There a about 3 or 4 of us who live in San Antonio on here. The biggest member from San Antonio is TexPhil so he could probably give you some solid local info. If you go to the BMW dealership here dont expect too much. I bought from them but they were not very eager to deal. Maybe they will now, but shop around. I would definitely recommend CPO (certified pre owned). Shop the net as well. The 535 is kick ass, but if I had it to do all over again I would have definitely went with the V8. Good luck and welcome...
