Hi everybody, My name is julian.

I just bought a BMW E60 530i and I am loving it!!.

It comes with no bluetooth or Iphone connection and I would like to know which would be the best option to install the bluetooth or the Ipod connection.

Other thing is. Do you know if the CD can read MP3?

Thank you everybody.

Julian. Certain model years can read MP3. From what I know it has to be a specific build date with Nav to enable MP3 capability.

Welcome Julian!

I have a '05 545i and I had to get a retrofit update to get my Bluetooth to work. I also had the iPod integration installed. This can be quite expensive at the dealer, but he gave me a deal and upgraded the iDrive software, along with the Bluetooth for free. All in all, I paid almost $700 CAD for everything. I thought it was worth it because I can access all my iPod albums through the iDrive and everything shows up on screen.

You can get the iPod hardware for cheap online and install yourself, but you still have to take the car into the dearship for a software update before the system will see the iPod. Yes, the dealership will charge you.

Other option is to get a cable that replaces the CD changer and plugs into the headphone jack of the iPod. Also available online. That's cheaper, but no integration with iDrive.

Hope that helps!

Where're you at? SoCal has a pretty active E60 community.
