Hi,
In anticipation of collecting my new (to me) e61 I have been surfing to see what sort of community there is around these cars and happened upon you guys.
I should be picking up my Touring today or tomorrow morning, can't wait.
I plumped for a 525d se in the end as the budget just wouldn't stretch to a 530 and I was only able to afford a high milage example, however it has a full service history and has recently had a whole host of bits replaced including the Diesel Particle filter and manifold so I am hoping I have made the right choice, fingers crossed.
I want to do some mods to it first being the Ipod interface, it has the six CD changer in the glove box so from what I can make out it's quite straight forward given the parts and a friendly BMW dealer.
Anyhow great forum and loads of info.
Any advice on running this car would be more than welcome, I'll try and post some pictures when I get it.

My Ride: 2006 525XI, Jet black on Dakota beige. Premium and winter packages. I consider myself a purist and intend to keep my car absolutely stock and shiny.
2008 328I Convertible, Sapphire black on beige interior. Premium package, NAV, iPod adapter.
Retired: 2002 325I, Titanium silver on black leather. Premium package. Absolutely stock and proud of it.

Well just picked it up and drove the 45ml home, is it just me or is that first drive home nerve racking for everyone?
Very nice! found myself getting through the gears a bit quick when I pulled away with a bit of enthusiasm.
