My Ride: 2005 530i Auto, Hud, Full auto recaro seats, large screen, Folding mirror, sunroof, active steering, Logic 7.
Default Hi

Hi Folks

10 days ago I bought my 530i at 134K Km.
I paid for it 68,500 Turkish Lira (roughly £ 17,000). Cars are expensive in Turkey.
It is my first Bmw.
Would be very happy to learn more about it and ask your kind assistant where needed.

All the best !

Emre

Thank you.
I do not have no plans just yet.
I do not like the brakes though. Abs seem to engage too early. Bmw must be good at breaking. But mine is not. Might be the tyres. Have to sort out first this issue. Pads seems to be good order. Might also need replaving the pad with better ones.

I contacted my bmw dealer to find out the additional futures of my car. Seems to have active steering and Logic 7. There is a logic 7 logo on the screen when i push the button on the radio station and with digital equalizer. Does it mean i have Logic 7?

Odd that my garage told me that no need to change the auto transmission fluid since it is lifelong. Do you get your changed and what intervals? Does it have to slip or go wrong before it is changed.

Welcome to 5 Series, Emre! Congratulations on your purchase. You can always improve your braking on your BMW with upgraded pads/rotors, lines, and fluid. If you need anything just let me know.

Thank you everyone.

A months passed and had spent some time on the car.

In very rare occasions, idrive starts late i mean such a minute late. Bmw logo cut out and come on again in that while one minute time. Since it rarely happens i does not concern me much. Though, do you think it is a tell tale sign of a break up finally and goes out eventually?

Secondly, my auto transmission sometimes engage the upper gear with some tilt. What i mean is that something like you move off the clutch pedal little too soon in a manuel transmission car and car shuffles a little forward. Some drivers might think It is like a sporty feel though in some way.

When engage the lower gear, there seems no problem. No knock on effet when engage lower gear.

In order to make it more smooth ride, should i get the transmission oil change ? Or get the software update and reset the existing data ?
Or is it a kind of a tell tale sign if a transmission failure and eventually need rectify ?

My garage says transmission fluid is life long so no need changing at all.

Though your opinion also important to me.

Emre

This is 100% false. Your transmission fluid does need to be changed on a regular basis.
