Hello all :) total newbie

Yup. Just like the title says...hopefully you all don't just roll your eyes at me with all my BMW ignorance :)

After carefully researching used cars and looking for several months my daughter and I found a 2007 BMW 525xi in very good shape for a reasonable amount of money. We had never looked at high end cars previous to me lucking into getting a 2004 Audi with 24k miles from a family friend for a great deal ( always had Hondas and Subarus) but we found that in her price range (5-6k) the types of cars we were used to were junk. Surprisingly we found more high end cars in that price range were actually much better, probably because people are afraid to buy older high end cars because upkeep can be astronomical. The car had about 114k miles and all service records etc. It was well taken care of and ran beautifully. My daughter loves this car. While we are finding the quirks and some of the features baffling ( no temp guage, battery in the trunk etc) she ( the car) is a beauty and we look forward to a hopefully long and winding journey with her. My next post will be about the problem we are experiencing now, but this was our introduction. It's great to see a forum where people share so much of their time and knowledge with each other! Thanks all!

:welcome: to the forums.

BMW upkeep cost is not astronomical if you do not have the dealer do the work.
