Hi everyone,

I am a double newbie in that I am new to the forums and new to BMW!

I have made the transition from Mercedes Benz to BMW and have taken delivery of a black 5 series with the beige/cream leather.

Traditionally I have not considered the BMW after a family friend had many problems years ago. Currently we have 2xSLK AMGs, an ML, Boxster and 911. I used to have an E class merc - but sold it when the new shape was about to come out in 02/03. I have since missed having a nice sedan and recently got so sick of using the ML as a sedan that we decided it was time to get another car. Just before we were to get a new E class - a friend suggested a 5 series - so we test drove it - and couldnt go past it.

Anyways - I will try to contribute where I can as I have done in the Mercedes Forums and Porsche Forums (I still own the mercs and porsches) and look forward to your assistance when I start to modify it!

I have just ordered my M Technic full kit from Tony as many of you have already and cant wait for it to arrive down under!

He is an absolute champion to deal with and so far I am beyond happy!

See you around!

Nick

Welcome to the forum. IMO it's the best forum hands down. Please post pictures when you can before the M-Technic kit and after. can't wait to see your car. BTW which 5 Series? 530, 550 or M5?

From one relative newbie to another, congrats and welcome! Great car (whichever model you're getting) and great forum to engage with. Enjoy.

Welcome.
When you have had enough time in the E60, it will be interesting to hear your views on how things compare to the Mercedes...

Welcome to the best BMW forum and congrats on the car. Which model E class did you have and which model E60 did you go with? Interested to hear your views on both, after you spend some time with the new car. Post pix soon!
