Default Bst help please

Hello Guys, I need your help. my 325i (2004) does not have any juicy to the starter, when I test current, there is no current on the terminal going to the starter, if I buypass with an external cable (from the battery to the terminal) bypassing the BST I can start my car. what should I do? should I buy the BST new or can I simply weld a 2 ohm resistor to the 2 black cables and cut out the yellow box which the two cables connect and put the battery direct? your help is really appreciated, oh and I can only find 2.2 ohm resistor in radio shack will this work????? I would prefer this way if it is possible because the cable or kit is over $500 bucks.
