06 M5 Owner in TX
Hi everyone,
while I was looking for a comfortable/spacious DD, I ran into an 06 M5 in the local area. I knew that the E60 M5 is notorious for being one of the worst reliable BMWs, but I've always wanted that raw V10 and I had backup cars in case the M5 decides to break down for whatever reason. More importantly, it was priced very well and had some major maintenance recently done (BE rod bearing kit, SMG clutch/pump). It's no show car and has plenty of dings/scratches, but that's fine with me since this is going to be a DD that I don't mind getting door dings/scratches on (until I decide to beautify it later on). My first SMG car and I thought I was going to hate it, but I kind of like the clunky-ness of it since it takes some effort to drive it smooth... so I feel like I'm always engaged in my driving just how I like it. All of my other cars are manual so having this thing in traffic is a godsend sometimes.
Looking forward to learn more about this car wrenching on it and pick the brains of you guys (especially on coding the car).
