Well, it depends. If your car is working properly, then it is not necessary. However, if you had en error that appeared and went away, it is still stored in DDE ECU. So, erasing the error memory is recommended.
I have just one question.
After washing the dpf on my e60 530d 2008, and cleaning, drying etc. Do i need to erase any codes? I dont have any errors right now. Reason that im asking is that i got a dpf error and after a long drive it went away...

Is it the DPF error message in the idrive? What the idrive say about the kilometers/miles left for the DPF?
If it's a true fault, deleting the message doesn't fix it.

I wanna know what i should do to keep the paint smooth and shiny. I have only washed the car once. And that Was by hand , with some normal auto shampoo.
