SoCal Caravan Thread to San Luis Obispo Meet
Hey, we should have both caravans on the same frequency so we'll pick up each other once we get in SLO and in range.
These FRS radios are cheap now and seems like the technology has improved quite a bit since I got my Moto Talkabouts 7-8 years ago. CoolTones picked up a pair of Cobras at Home Depot that has a claimed range of 12 miles and it's also rechargeable. I think my Talkabouts only covers 2 miles and uses 4 AA batteries each.
Time for an upgrade!

Everyone should have one cause even in groups of 5, someone's bound to get lost. Maybe the leads can exchange cell numbers.

I think I have one of those Motorolas lying somewhere.
If I drove like we did last night, people are bound to be lost

yeah, that V1 makes you drive all crazy
I snipped a map of where i'm talking about. Personally, I don't usually stop in SB...but others will be coming from further south. Just a thought.

Is there a planned stop in SB? If not...we can avoid the State St. traffic, by driving a bit further up Hwy 101 to Calle Real St. and jumping on Hwy 154 there.

Maybe you guys could pass through SB and collectively place a bid on Jacko's ranch since I think it's about to go into forclosure...
